I started Raemelton Farm in 2004 with the hope that we could grow stunning trees using the most efficient and sustainable farming practices. We’re getting there. If you give me a chance, I’ll talk your ear off about the latest in sensor-driven application technology, tropical grass cover crop varieties, or the latest low-impact pesticide. We are all proud of what we do at the farm—come see for yourself.

You can find me and my pal, Lefty, biking around the farm most days. We love to pick out gorgeous trees for our customers, and if you ask for a photo, Lefty will be happy to model the tree for you, ha! My background is in Architecture and Landscape Design, so if you’re ever wondering how to use a particular tree we grow, let me know and I’m sure I can help!
Jose San Martin
Farm Manager
I began my journey at Raemelton Farm as an intern and after a few years I became the Farm Manager. With nearly two decades of experience in the landscaping industry—spanning maintenance, garden design, and plant production— I enjoy sharing my knowledge and hands-on expertise with the team. At Raemelton, my daily responsibilities range from pest control and planting new trees to planning irrigation schedules and keeping all the equipment running smoothly. What I like the most is the opportunity to work outdoors and contribute to sustainable farming practices that support long-term environmental health.
Jamie Kasberg
I joined Raemelton Farm in 2026 after years of sourcing and purchasing plants for garden centers in the DMV. While my background is in photography, my true passion is gardening and creating beautiful plant scapes. I love to help people find the perfect tree for their situation and discover new cultivars that continually amaze me.
Greg Lutgen
The newest member of the Raemelton team, I joined in June of 2026. My background is in field and wildlife biology, but I most recently spent 8 years working on plant breeding at Montana State University. Coming from the world of small grains – I still have a lot to learn about nursery production. But I am a lifelong lover of trees, enjoy working outdoors, and am very excited to be here. When I’m not managing pests or digging trees at Raemelton, you can usually find me fishing somewhere on the Potomac.
